Earth Day 2026:

Earth Day 2026

Across the Centre, children and staff have been celebrating our wonderful Earth!

Kits have been exploring flowers in the Tuff trays and gardens - looking at their colourful petals and green leaves.

Our Rabbits' base have been exploring the soil and pasta (wiggly worms) in the Tuff trays using their magnifying glasses!  As well as using green and blue paint to make handprints in the shape of the earth.

Hedgehogs have been busy going on a 'Bug Hunt' looking in the soil, on leaves and under logs to see what they can find!   Also learning about the importance of our wildlife and how we can  look after them.  The base have really enjoyed the book ' A Good Place' by Lucy Cousins learning about habitats.

Foxes' base have made their own individual Earth pictures from paper plates as well as making their own earth pictures from either natural materials or green and blue chalk outside. They loved using the hoola hoops to draw around!

And as always, our children have loved being outside in our wonderful playgrounds, woodlands and allotments and been involved in planting too.

Our Partnership message of children being 'Architects of a Better World' is also summed up by our Kits' Base Earth Day poster  'small hands can change the world'
