“I just wanted to say a huge thank you for today. I have come away with lots of ideas and things we could tweak. It would be great if myself and a member of my team could pop out to one of your other schools. I will contact you in the New Year after the craziness of Christmas has been and gone if that is OK!!”
Testimonials
“I just wanted to thank you again for hosting us both today and for taking the time to share your expertise, it is much appreciated!”
“Thank you so much for having us yesterday. We took so much from the visit and have already started to put a plan in place.
Also a massive thank you to all the staff in the school from the ladies in the office to the staff in the classrooms, everyone was so welcoming and smiley - we felt so welcome and had such a good vibe from the whole school. ”
We are recognised and trusted by Southampton City Council to deliver training support to settings across the city as part of their EYAT programme.
Early Years Advisory Teachers
The Early Years Advisory Teachers (EYATs) and Area SENDCos are part of the Education Standards Service. They offer specialist support to those working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) approach. This includes early years settings, as well as colleagues working in Year R and Year 1.
The EYATs are qualified teachers with extensive experience in teaching, curriculum, and leadership within the Foundation Stage. They provide high-quality, tailored support for the EYFS and beyond. They contribute to raising attainment and improving outcomes for children. They also support schools in applying early years principles and approaches with older children. To enhance progress and participation they help to embed:
Developmentally appropriate practice
Play-based learning
A focus on engagement and wellbeing
As Area SENDCos, the team also offer support and guidance on delivering the best provision for children with SEND within the Foundation Stage and beyond. This includes guidance on:
Early identification
Intervention
Inclusive practice
Staff training to build confidence in meeting a range of needs
Our very own phonics scheme, Pip and Pap Phonics, has a programme specifically curated for EYFS settings.
