OWWL blog:
This week, the children have been busy exploring nature and gardening through hands-on activities. We planted bulbs that were already sprouting, using our very own compost from the composting area, helping the children see how food waste can be reused to support new life.
We also took part in the big garden bird count, spending time observing, recording and talking about the different birds visiting our outdoor space.
The children observed bulbs at different stages of growth and then painted the life cycle of a bulb, developing their understanding of how plants grow while expressing their creativity.
Finally, we sowed flower and herb seeds indoors in preparation for refreshing our sensory garden in the spring. This activity encouraged patience, responsibility, and excitement as we look forward to watching our plants grow over the coming weeks.
