Kits blog:

In Kits’ Base, the young children have been busy outside discovering and exploring our mud kitchen. They were fully engaged as they felt the texture of the mud in the tuff tray, scooping it up and filling buckets. They also loved transporting the mud around the area, using their imagination as they pretended to cook and filled bowls in the sink.

The children love singing, which we often enjoy together in a small group. They always share the joy of singing and joining in with the actions, especially when they interact with their peers by holding hands, such as when singing ‘Row, Row, Row Your Boat’. They also showed great excitement when we celebrated their special birthdays, singing ‘Happy Birthday’, clapping, and giving lovely hugs.

The children continue to explore our mark‑making area, having a go with different resources and tools, keeping their curiosity alive as they learn how to use them. Their confidence in approaching sensory activities in the tuff tray is growing, and they are even beginning to seek out additional resources to extend their play collecting big spoons, plates, or baskets from the home corner to use in their exploration.
