Kits blog:
In the Kits room, the babies also enjoyed a lovely tuff‑tray activity featuring a farm scene with baby animals and a variety of textured resources for sensory play. As expected, the babies explored the materials by putting them in their mouths, and with support from an adult, they were able to focus on exploring the items with their hands as well.
For our creative activity, the children used their palm grasp to hold small toy animals, dipping them in paint and making animal footprints on paper. The adult supported their communication by naming the animals they were using and modelling the sounds they make, which encouraged the children to repeat the noises with big smiles.
It is so lovely to see and hear the children enjoying having little conversations with the adults, babbling and using small gestures as they try to express their thoughts.
