Rabbits blog:

The children are fully engaged in their arts and crafts activity. They have shown great interest in exploring different textured materials and are learning how to use a glue stick, using their fine motor skills to pull off the lid and twist the bottom to raise the glue. They then used it to spread and stick pieces of shredded yellow tissue paper and yellow feathers onto large sheets of paper, creating nests for their chicks.

In the garden, the children are enjoying the lovely weather with their friends, having fun taking turns on the seesaw. They also showed curiosity about the activity set up on the tuff tray, which was filled with colourful flowers and leaves. They listened with interest as an adult explained how they could create colourful prints on paper by using a rolling pin to squash and roll the natural materials to make patterns. The children happily had a go, following the instructions and engaging in the activity.

The children are engaged in our role play area, where we have transformed the home corner into a flower shop. The adult modelled being the shopkeeper, using imagination to offer flowers to the children. They were delighted to copy the idea and were eager to take turns being the shopkeeper themselves, using simple language and questions to begin their conversations, such as: “Would you like some flowers?”, “How many flowers would you like?” and “What colour would you like?” The children thoroughly enjoyed this imaginative role play with their peers.
