Eco blog:

This week we have been exploring things found on the ground.

We have had a feel of moss as well as other things found outside on the ground during autumn. Encouraging children to use descriptive words as they feel the objects.

We made nature wands using sticks and leaves found on the ground by the children.

We used gingerbread scented dough to mark make in using our autumnal finds and then made dough faces.

On weds the outside was shut due to high winds so we looked at a book about garden bugs and then went on to explore our pet snails and stick insects.

Finally today we revisited the garden bug book and then went to find the bug houses we hid last week. When opening them we found spiders, wood lice, a centipede, a millipede and some tiny jumping bugs.

In the other tough tray we had mulch, moss and soil with lots of insects and garden bugs to search for and look at with magnifying glasses.
